I Made Soap!

This week I made soap! IMG_8443
Soap is much more terrifying than making soup IMG_8444
I poured the soap into a cheese slice container and closed the lid to insulate it and when it warmed back up it oosed out the sides, so I put the crumbs back in IMG_8445
I put coffee grounds, oatmeal, peppermint, cinnamon, and nutmag in the soap IMG_8446
Now it has to cure in a paper bag under my bed for a month IMG_8453
This was my first time making soap. I watched lots of soap making videos and found this one realy helpful and read lots of soap recipes. I used lots of precaution when making the soap, wearing rubber gloves, a mask, sunglasses (because I didn't have goggles, you gotta do what you gotta do), I had all of my supplies out before I started, I had the window open and a bottle of white vinger (to neutralize any spilt lye) open. I used this webiste to calculate my recipe. I used olive, coconut and canola oil in my soap. I've used some of the soap crumbs already and I'm pleased with the results and can't wait to make more!

Chickpea Burgar

Chickpea Bugar
IMG_8392
I made some AMAZING chickpea burgars this week useing Oh Dear Drea's recipe and ate them 3 days in a row, they were that good. I used one can of chickpeas and I made 7 patties out of it. Curry Mayo and Catsup Manis
I used a country style bread with garlic in it for my burger, topped off one slice with mayo and curry, and the other with home-made Catsup Manis which is reduced soy suace and brown sugar. You could also just add some molasses to soysuace. Chickpea Burger and Mango
Then I put the chickpea burgar and some mango slices on. Pineapple Chunty and Spinach
Then finished off with some home made pineapple chutney and baby spinach. The pineapple chutney has pineapple, onion, cinnamon, nutmag and brown sugar. IMG_8423
This was delicious and healthy and can't wait to make more!

An Amazing Video on Lifesytle

I have to share this video called "Dan Buettner: How to live to be 100+"

"“It’s hard to reach [the age of] 100. We’re not programmed for longevity. We are programmed for something called procreative success.”"

"“In Sardinia, the older you get the more equity you have, the more wisdom you’re celebrated for. You go into the bars in Sardinia, instead of seeing the Sports Illustrated swimsuit calendar, you see the centenarian of the month calendar.”"

"“We know that isolation kills. Fifteen years ago, the average American had three good friends. We’re down to one and half right now.”"

"“I asked her what it felt like to hold a great-great-great-granddaughter. She put her head back and she said, ‘It feels like leaping into heaven.’”"
